NEW ERA IN ST MAARTEN INTERNET TECHNOLOGY- NEW ERA IN GOVERNMENT

Many at GEBE feel that the removal of William Brooks, will usher in a new era at the monopoly power company. St Maarten, now with new nation status, has yet to upgrade from its dated analog systems, an issue that has been the bane of many technicians, and people in the IT industry.
Many who travel to St Maarten, quickly realize what takes them 2 minutes to upload in the USA, Canada or Europe, takes them 2 hours our more to upload in SXM, if it uploads at all.
The Cable system is ancience and obsolete, bordering on the illegal in some cases, with many locals complaining that they are paying-a lot of money-for stations that the Cable company are pirating.
The local government, when preparing for the 10-10-10 festivities,
evidently forgot that a large chunk of the laws, constitutions and tenets had to be amended.
The St Maarten Government finds itself, in a position now,
where they are either backpeddling on misteps, or trying enact laws and changes with little fore-thought, or foresight.
St Maarten is currently struggling, and it's main egg remains the tourist cruise liner.
St Maarteners need to be able to fall back on something, when there is no ship in dock.
Computer courses, training and job placement, should be something considered by the local government.
