First public session in Country St Maarten's history of St Maarten Constitutional Court being led by Bob Wit.

St Maarten is the only country in the Kingdom that has the authority to review new legislation within the constitution, and to declare if neccesary, certain laws unconstitutional. One cannot appeal the verdicts of the Constitutional Court. Apparently Ombudsman Nilda Arduin is the only perosn with the ability to submit articles to be reviewed. If that is a fact, then St Maarten doesn't even have a St Maartener in this position, not surprising. They are discussing prostitution, something our current government condones, although it is against the law. There are also many conflicts, considering it's members of government who run these illicit brothels, which do constitute human rights violations. Prostitutes are pressured and forced into selling their bodies most of the times, they are not carefully regulated, and even when they are regulated, its their pimps (Parliamentarian Sylvia Olivacce Meyers) etc, who are the ones deciding these laws. The Dutch have their own problems when it comes to laws and ethics. If one investigates another, there's an expectation of "clean hands", which is not always the case when it comes to the Dutch. But will they question the fact that it is Parliamentarians and Ministers who are pimping these women out, and also writing the laws which are supposed to be protecting these women?
How is our government involved in the prostitution and pimping "game" in St Maarten. Parliamentarian Sylvia Olivacce Meyers, is married to the Eastern Caribbeans most prolific Pimp, who would be Toachie Meyers. Theo Heyliger, who is Minister of Vromi by proxi, through Maurice Lake and his family not only have their own brothels. Claude Wathey was the first person in St Maarten approx. 50 years ago to open an illicit brothel in St Maarten. Prostitution is not legal in St Maarten, however the government (who control the brothels) use permits to bypass the laws.
